Collaborative Focus

The Idaho Food Manufacturers & Processors collaborative is focused on aligning the needs of industry with the workforce training and recruitment resources available in the state. The initial effort will be focused on the Magic Valley region that is recognized as the hub of food manufacturing and processing in the state. As lessons are learned and best practices identified, these will be shared with other key regions in the state.

Our initial focus will be on those key positions within industry that are identifiable "pain points" for recruitment, training, and retention. In addition, the input gathered from industry participants will be used to improve the Food Processing Technology program offered at CSI and help launch more targeted apprenticeships. 

The ongoing effort will continue to seek input from the food manufacturing industry and the allied manufacturers across Idaho.
